In my experience evaluating CITIC SECURITIES’ deposit and withdrawal procedures, I found that their options are quite limited and conservative when compared to many international brokers. As of my latest review, CITIC SECURITIES only allows deposits and withdrawals via bank transfers and cheque deposits using accounts registered in the client’s own name. There is explicit mention that third-party transfers as well as cash deposits or withdrawals are strictly not accepted. Additionally, popular methods like credit cards, PayPal, Skrill, or cryptocurrency are not available for funding or withdrawing from accounts here. This cautious approach is consistent with their regulatory requirements in Hong Kong and typical for traditional brokerage operations serving local clients. Electronic payments can be made via electronic bill payment services if you bank with HSBC or Hang Seng Bank, or through an eDDA (Electronic Direct Debit Authorization) for eligible securities and HKD transactions. All deposit instructions submitted after the 5:00 p.m. cutoff are processed on the next business day. For me, this structure adds security but less flexibility and speed—especially if you are used to more modern, global payment methods. Given the absence of instant deposit methods and the explicit limitations on acceptable transfer channels, I would urge fellow traders to be very cautious and make sure these arrangements fit your needs before engaging. The lack of support for cards, e-wallets, and crypto means extra planning is required for both funding and withdrawals, and this may not suit everyone’s trading style or expectations.
