From my experience trading with FXTF, spreads are generally tight, and I have found the broker to deliver stable execution with little to no slippage under regular market conditions. However, the available information from FXTF and what I’ve seen reflected in my trades suggests that the spreads are variable rather than fixed. This is fairly typical in the Japanese retail forex sector, where most regulated brokers offer variable spreads to keep costs lower for traders during stable periods. In practice, tight spreads can definitely give an edge, especially if you favor scalping or high-frequency trading strategies. Yet, when there’s substantial market volatility—like during major news releases or unexpected economic data—I have observed, as with most brokers offering variable spreads, that the spreads widen temporarily. This expansion is a risk I always prepare for, as even normally reliable brokers must adjust spread offerings to handle sudden liquidity challenges and increased risk on their end. To sum up, while FXTF’s spreads are typically competitive, they are not immune to widening during news-driven volatility. This is something I personally account for in my trade planning, and I would advise any trader to do the same, particularly if your strategy involves trading around news events.
