From my experience and after reviewing Shikoku as a potential broker, I want to share what I've learned regarding available trading instruments, especially for those who, like me, are interested in specific assets such as Gold (XAU/USD) and Crude Oil. Shikoku presents itself as a Japan-based broker with over a decade of operation and is regulated by Japan's FSA, which adds credibility and a level of investor protection that I always see as essential in evaluating risk. As a multi-asset broker, Shikoku offers several classes including investment trusts, stocks, bonds, forex, and notably, commodities. While the commodities category is supported, the platform does not specifically clarify which commodities are available for trading. In my cautious assessment, this typically includes assets like gold and oil, but without explicit confirmation of XAU/USD and crude oil contracts, I would be hesitant to assume their availability without directly confirming with their support. One practical consideration for me: their platform does not support MT4 or MT5, which limits advanced charting and may affect access to certain products, including popular CFD pairs for gold and oil. Additionally, the absence of a demo account makes it difficult to verify asset lists firsthand. For anyone prioritizing gold or crude oil trading, I strongly recommend contacting Shikoku directly to clarify their exact commodity offerings before making any commitments.
