However, my experience underscores a critical point: when a broker’s regulatory licenses from the UK’s FCA have lapsed—recorded as “Exceeded” for both payment and investment advisory permissions—one must assume heightened risk, especially in volatile market conditions. In my professional experience, during high-impact news events, variable spreads can widen significantly, sometimes to levels that can surprise even veteran traders. Without solid current regulation and clear communication about their spread model, I would be extremely wary. For anyone considering trading during news events with HCFX, the lack of robust regulatory protection, coupled with uncertainties around spread handling, means I personally would proceed with a strong degree of caution and would seek out more transparent and better-regulated alternatives for my own trading.
