From my perspective as a trader with years of hands-on experience, FFG Securities stands out mainly for its breadth when it comes to instrument selection—though not in the way one might expect from global forex or multi-asset platforms. Instead, FFG Securities is distinctly geared towards the Japanese market and prioritizes domestic and U.S. equities, bonds, ETFs, REITs, and investment trusts. This focus means that, for investors interested specifically in Japanese and select foreign stocks as well as diversified investment vehicles, there’s meaningful opportunity to tailor portfolios across various asset classes. However, it's important to acknowledge that forex, commodities, indices, and crypto trading are not supported, so this platform is not suitable for those seeking those instruments. In terms of fees, I’ve noticed that FFG Securities does carry high costs for traditional, in-person services. For clients who favor online-only orders, however, there are considerable fee reductions—online commissions can be discounted by up to 90% compared to face-to-face trading. This is especially relevant for active traders who are comfortable using the digital platform and value cost-efficiency. Still, other fees, such as for transfers or paper delivery, are present and can erode returns for those with frequent activity. While I find the overall fee structure competitive if one sticks strictly to online transactions, the minimum deposit requirements are not transparently disclosed, which makes it difficult to fully evaluate suitability for smaller or newer accounts. As always, it’s critical to weigh these elements against your personal trading priorities and to proceed cautiously.
