From my firsthand experience evaluating and using broker platforms, the ability to run Expert Advisors (EAs) for automated trading is closely tied to whether the broker supports MetaTrader 4 (MT4) or MetaTrader 5 (MT5), as these are the industry standards for EA integration. In the case of Fineco, their trading is conducted exclusively on their proprietary FinecoX platform—there’s no support for MT4 or MT5. This is a significant point for me as an independent trader because custom scripts, EAs, and algorithmic strategies built for the MetaTrader environment cannot be used on FinecoX. This limitation means that if automated trading is a central part of your strategy, Fineco would not be suitable. While their platform may offer efficiency and covers a broad range of assets, as far as automation goes, you are essentially restricted. In my judgment, without EA and algorithmic support, Fineco is far less attractive for systematic or quantitative traders. More importantly, I urge anyone considering this broker to note that WikiFX flags Fineco as unregulated and high-risk, which, combined with its proprietary-only technology and lack of automation tools, means I cannot safely recommend it for strategies heavily reliant on EAs. For me, platform flexibility and regulatory security are non-negotiable when real capital is on the line.
