In my experience as a forex trader, the regulatory status of a broker like Linear plays a crucial role in safeguarding client funds, and I always make this a primary point of evaluation. Linear is regulated in the United Kingdom under the FCA, with an Institution Forex License (STP). The FCA is known for its relatively strong oversight and requires brokers to adhere to strict standards, such as client fund segregation and periodic auditing. This structure, in principle, is meant to minimize risks of mismanagement or misuse of client deposits and helps facilitate recourse in the event of disputes. However, I noticed some concerning points based on my personal due diligence. Although Linear holds an FCA license, WikiFX flags a "suspicious scope of business" and labels Linear as high risk, which is not something I ignore as an experienced trader. One particular red flag is the report stating that an in-person visit found no actual office at the registered UK address. This could indicate possible operational transparency issues. Additionally, an old FCA decision notice about Linear, even if dated, remains relevant in my cautious risk assessment. While FCA regulation is certainly a reassuring baseline for me, these warning signals mean that, in my judgment, regulatory status alone does not eliminate all risks. I would approach trading with Linear conservatively and continue monitoring their current compliance and physical presence to safeguard my capital further.
