Speaking as an experienced trader, I approach Metaverse Securities’ regulatory status with a cautious mindset. The company is based in Hong Kong and was under the supervision of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), which is a reputable regulator. In theory, SFC regulation means the broker must adhere to certain standards regarding capital adequacy, client fund segregation, and operational transparency—all designed to help protect client assets. However, I noted that Metaverse Securities’ license (AAW177) for dealing in securities has expired, and there are concerns about exceeding its permitted business scope. For me, this raises questions about the ongoing level of oversight. A valid, active SFC license would typically offer traders recourse in case of disputes or malpractice, furthering the sense of fund security. Right now, only its futures contract license (BSM300) appears to be valid, but if a broker operates outside of its licensed permissions, clients could be exposed to additional, unexpected risks. That’s why, in my personal judgment, while an SFC license is a positive, the current ambiguities with Metaverse Securities’ status mean I’d exercise heightened caution and wouldn’t rely solely on their regulatory claims as a safeguard for my capital.
