Does Questrade charge any fees when you deposit or withdraw funds from your account?
In my experience trading with Questrade, one aspect that initially stood out to me was their policy regarding deposit and withdrawal fees. When I first considered funding my account, I paid close attention to every possible charge, since fees can quietly erode gains over time. Questrade does not impose any fees for deposits or withdrawals on their end, whether using popular options like Visa Debit, Interac e-Transfer, bank transfer, or electronic funds transfer. This means that whenever I moved money into or out of my account, Questrade itself didn't add extra costs to those transactions, which I appreciated as it allowed me to better predict my trading expenses. However, I’ve learned to be careful with assumptions—while Questrade doesn’t add their own deposit or withdrawal fees, this does not guarantee a transaction will always be free from costs. In certain cases, depending on the withdrawal method or your bank’s own policies (for example, with wire transfers), additional third-party fees can be triggered. This is a common industry standard, but worth verifying with your specific bank. Ultimately, having no broker-imposed deposit or withdrawal fees has simplified my money management as a trader, but I remain mindful of potential outside charges and always review the fine print before initiating a transfer.
