From my experience as a trader, reviewing the account options at Proton Markets left me with several reservations. Proton Markets appears to offer multiple account tiers, each with varying minimum deposit thresholds and leverage, though many important details are missing or unclear. The minimum deposit requirements start at an extremely high $1,000 for the lowest tier, increasing up to $50,000 or more for higher tiers; these figures are substantially higher than many established, regulated brokers require, which is a critical consideration for me when assessing accessibility and flexibility. Leverage also appears to increase as deposits do, ranging up to 1:400, but I didn't see thorough information about risk controls or account protections. Spreads start from 0.9 pips on the highest deposit account but widen to 1.5 pips for the lowest. While tighter spreads can be attractive, the lack of clarity around commissions, products offered, and deposit or withdrawal methods leaves significant gaps in the comparison. Of greater concern to me, though, is the absence of valid regulatory oversight and multiple explicit risks warned by independent reviewers. For accounts requiring substantial capital outlay, I would need assurances of transparency, customer protection, and efficient access to funds—none of which I found sufficiently addressed here. For me, regardless of minor differences in account structure, the fundamental safety issues and lack of regulatory clarity outweigh any structural benefits the various Proton Markets account types might seem to offer.
